Please read ours terms and conditions carefully and make sure that you are happy to go ahead and that you fully understand them. You must understand that by ordering, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Our  website https://www.vicsmithbeds.co.uk. Our company name is Vic Smith Bedding Ltd. Known as Vic Smith Beds. A family business that’s has been trading for over 35 years.

YOUR STATUS

By placing an order through our site, you warrant that:
you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts; and that you are at least 18 years old.
That you have provided accurate details about yourself including your name, address and payment details and a contact number on which you can be easily reached. Any payment details are yours and nobody else’s.

HOW THE CONTRACT IS FORMED BETWEEN YOU AND US

Your order constitutes an offer to us to buy Goods and services linked to buying the Goods (“Order”). All Orders are subject to acceptance by us, which we are free to accept or decline at our absolute discretion. The contract between us will only be formed once payment has been received by us. This will confirm the order is in place.

Your order Number will be Booking reference & Invoice Number. Please always quote your Booking refence / Invoice Number in all subsequent correspondence with us relating to the goods order.

​

Any changes. We have the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions from time to time to reflect any changes in market conditions affecting our business, technology, payment methods, relevant laws and regulatory requirements and/or in our system's capabilities. You will be subject to the policies and terms in force at the time that you order the Goods from us, unless any change to those policies or these terms is required by law or government or regulatory authority (in which case, it will apply to orders you have previously placed that we have not yet fulfilled).

CANCELLATION. 

If you wish to cancel and or amend your order you should contact us with your Booking refence / Invoice Number. Any Goods that have been special ordered for you we have the right to charge according or not take the CANCELLATION and the order still stands. Standard goods can be restocked for a fee which, will vary depending on the goods before delivery.

YOUR STEPS BEFORE DELIVERY

It is essential that you notify us of any possible restrictions to access into your home when placing your Order. so In particular you should consider vehicle access, Road restrictions, lifts, staircases and room access, Staircase access, loft conversions, it is your responsibility and own risk which normally involves more cost.

Has your home had a loft conversion?

If your home have had a loft conversion it probably will need to be a split quad base.

Single bases comes in 2 parts you can have Deep base,  Drawer base or spring ottoman

Double base comes in 4 parts you can have Deep base, Drawer base or spring ottoman

King base comes in 4 parts you can have Deep base,  Drawer base or spring ottoman

Super King base comes in 4 parts you can have Deep base,  Drawer base, or spring ottoman

DELIVERY TIME SLOTS

we deliver between 9 -12.30  ( AM Slot ) & 12.30 -5.30 ( PM Slot ) Traffic can catch us off guard from time to time, and if we are running late we will keep you updated.

DELIVERY

All delivery times quoted at the time of order are estimated and so cannot be guaranteed until we book them in with you for a confirmed delivery slot.

Our standard delivery is a two person doorstep only delivery, however we will be happy to take goods to the room of your choice and set up and remove the old bed depending on what has been arranged as long as you invite us into your home / dwelling. You must aware it’s your obligation not ours to ensure that on the day of delivery access to the room of choice is clear and free from obstruction. If access to the room is not clear and free of obstruction then we will leave the goods on your doorstep for you to deal with, goods not delivered will needed to be warehoused & rearranged for redelivery and extra costs will apply. Should windows or doors need to be removed to allow access, it is your responsibility to arrange this at your own cost and your own risk.

 

Over 18.

We can only deliver to someone that is over 18 years old. If they look younger we will ask for ID.

We do not accept any responsibility for damage to your property. We will take every care in your home and treat it with respect during the delivery and or collection. We enter your home under invite to come in by you. Any damage / scuffing due to goods not fitting would be because we were following your instruction and therefore not our responsibility or our negligence. Any damage / scuffing due to this, Liability limited solely to you to repair of that damage/ scuffing. There will be no element of betterment on our part.

IF WE ARRIVE AT YOURS FOR DELIVERY.

In the event that nobody is in to take delivery or you do not comply with any of the above obligations, we may require extra payment from you of all costs reasonably incurred by us including any waiting around time, which also may include but is not limited to wasted journeys and time. You not being ready to take delivery not only messes us around costing money but also messes the next customer around or we may even have to cancel their delivery having run out of time that day.

 

We cannot and will not be responsible for any defect in the Goods arising from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, accident, negligence by you or any third party. if you use the Goods in a way that we or the manufacturer do not recommend, your failure to follow our or the manufacturer’s instructions is your responsibility, if you carry out any alteration or repair this is down to you and it’s solely your responsibility. -not ours or the manufacturers. This will null and void your guarantee & warranty and Consumer Rights!

SIGNING FOR THE GOODS

No,  not nowadays, since Covid signing is a thing of the past, Just like Amazon when they leave a parcel on your doorstep, now you simply stand next the goods we have set up for you. We take a picture of you and the goods in the room-  this is a bit like Amazon, DHL, FedEx , even some pizza companies

What your buying & what you’re getting.

If you are buying/paying for a mattress =This is what you will get.

If you are buying/paying a bed you will get a bed ( mattress & base) =This is what you will get

If you are buying/paying a bed ( mattress & base) with Drawers =This is what you will get

If in the picture you see pillows on the bed or mattress this does not mean they come with the goods and are for photographic use only to dress the goods for a photo. Same if you see a headboard on a bed - it’s for photographic use only to dress the goods for a photo, just as bed pictures are looking like they are in a house - no you don’t get the house as well! Yes you can buy headboards please click on Headboards and select then buy. Any photographs, models, samples, drawings, sizes and/or product description or advertising we issue, and any illustrations contained in our website, brochures, emails are produced solely to provide you with an approximate idea of the Goods they describe and/or are representative of the finished product. If you need more detailed help please email or call into store . All Goods are manufactured within the standard industry measurement tolerances and made to comply And conforms to Fire Resistant Regs  BS 7177 : 2008.

COLLECTION OF YOUR OLD BED.

We can happily for a small fee arrange to collect your old bed at the same time we deliver your new goods. You can of course contact your local council and they can advise if they will collect and if they charge  -most councils do charge. We cannot take any bed that has been outside the property for Hygiene reasons. We will reserve the right not to collect any old mattress if it’s too dirty or unsanitary. We recommend that you do not dispose of your existing bed until the new one has been delivered. If we are collecting your old bed leave it in the room and we will sort it out. if you have arranged the council to collect we cannot help take it down stairs or leave it outside your home for you sorry! We are licenced to take away ( for a fee). To part remove and leave anywhere else ( even on your driveway )  is classed as fly tipping, and we have to stick to the regulations.

PACKAGING.

When we set up your new bed / mattress we have to leave the packaging for you to dispose of /use / recycle as it is your property.

CARING FOR YOUR NEW BED / MATTRESS.

Mattresses bought separately cannot be guaranteed as no manufacturer can know if yor base is good and fit for purpose for a new mattress or even the correct mattress for the correct base! Never put a new mattress onto an old sprung base!

 

Never hoover or wash your mattress. Only ever use a light damp cloth to remove any dust which should not be there if you use a mattress protecter.

Always use a mattress protecter to keep clean, not just a mattress cover !

​

Turning your mattress

week 1, turn/flip over your mattress.

week 2, Then rotate your mattress head to toe

week 3, turn/flip over your mattress

week 4, Then rotate your mattress head to toe

 Then move this from weekly to monthly.

With NON TURN MATTRESSES these MUST still be rotated weekly for a month ( 4 times),

With Non turn don’t turn over/flip over your mattress

Always have a min of two people to move your mattress, never try to roll it  , turn it as a slab

Never use the mattress handles to lift the mattress, they are just for tiny adjustments not for the mattresses full weight. If you lift the mattress by these it can cause damage!

 

THIN BED BASES AND METAL / WOODEN FRAMES

These goods need to be tightened once a month.

BEDS WITH DRAWERS. 

Don’t over load the drawers, especially in the middle - whilst drawer bases are stronger the drawer box is designed to pop if over loaded

 

OTTOMAN BASES.

Side opening are far better, safer, stronger & last longer. NEVER take the mattress weight of from the base as it will want to fly open without any weight on top. So when turning it’s simple just keep the mattress weight on the base lid, in the middle or towards the opening edge to keep it closed.

 

YOUR ORDER IS UNIQUE TO YOU.

Your goods will be supplied in accordance with the instructions and specification as detailed in our website or stores. Every effort will be made to match all colours and finishes in our stores. Having said that Notwithstanding this all Goods are purchased and supplied, on the understanding that there could be slight dye, shade and grain variations, particularly with natural products such as wood and leather, Tencel & Suede. Leather products are made from quality hides and may not be uniform in colour or texture as no two cows are the same and will show natural marks and tones. Colours may also change with age and exposure to sun and other conditions. When buying online  the colours you see on your screen may and will be different to another screen or phone screen  and if you print a copy, your printer will print different to your screen or another printer. Most people are aware of this but just in case you’re not hope this helps. The true/ accurate colour is the finished product in the flesh .

CANCELLATION BY VIC SMITH BEDS.

We reserve the right to cancel an Order and terminate the Contract

*if we do not have the stock to fulfil an order,
*we are unable to deliver your order,
*your payment was not authorised,
*the Goods contained in your Order were incorrectly described or priced on the website,       *Or if you are rude to any of our staff.

We will reimburse your payment in full if it’s our fault!

DATA PROTECTION. 

We are a registered data controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 2018 (the "Act") and we will comply with the statutory requirements imposed on us to keep your personal data confidential and secure.

Telephone conversations with us may be recorded for the purposes of monitoring customer service standards and for security.
